Dr. Soumi Naha Nag is a performing vocal artist in the area of Rabindra Sangeet. With a familial inclination to music, her inspiration in Rabindra Sangeet was further nurtured in the auspicious environment of Santiniketan, where she had studied from childhood up to her PhD in Plant Biotechnology while simultaneously maintaining her music interests.

Recently, Soumi’s voice was recorded in the prestigious Geetabitan Archive – a joint Indo-Bangladesh mega-project by Rezwana Choudhury Banya that archives all songs of Geetabitan – among various reputed artists from both countries.

Soumi’s parents were close students of the legends like Shailajaranjan Majumdar, Kanika Bandopadhyaya, Shantidev Ghosh (all direct disciples of Tagore), as for which, Soumi started to sing in their tutelage from a tender age. Soumi participated in various programs in- and outside Visva Bharati throughout her student life where her performances were highly appreciated.

Soumi has featured in several television media including Tara Muzik, 24 Ghonta, while her performance drew attention of several cultural media including Anandabazar Patrika, Hindustan Times, among others.
