... I can remember only a single line of the song that I had heard long back in my childhood - "Tomay bideshini saajaye ke dile!" It was a beautiful portrayal and had created a constant buzz in the ears. Fascinated by the rhyme once I tried to produce a song. Following the hum I wrote "Aami chini go chini tomare, ogo bideshini". I have no idea what could have resulted if the tune was absent at that time. Although, by virtue of the tune an impressive image of a foreign lady emerged. My mind was inclined to believe that a foreign lady must roam about within our reality, a lady from the flipside of an unknown mysterious ocean, often visible through the autumn mornings and serene nights, her existence felt within my soul, the echo of her voice too, as it appears, I have heard. I would sail across with the help of my tune in front of the mesmerizing universal door of the lady and would say -
'Bhubono bhromiya sheshe
Esechhi tomari deshe
Aami otithi tomari dwaare, ogo bideshini. ...
