Rabindranath had delivered a speech with heading ‘Messege of the forest’ at the Berlin University. The last part of the speech and a song in his voice was recorded and preserved. Then the recordings were kept in a underground vault so that they are preserved for thousands of years. Theose recordings may have been well protected but the copy of the same recording kept in the library was badly damaged by bombing in the Second World War. However the German engineers had successfully restored them and the then Prime Minister of East Germany had sent it to Shantiniketan through Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Chancellor of Visvabharati.
