Notes: This song was written on 21st August, 1935.
Professors and workers of Shantiniketan had founded a club named – ‘Hoi-hoi Sangha’ in the month of Sravana, 1342B. Nandalal Basu, Rathindranath Anilkumar Chanda and several other elderly persons were the members of this club along with youngsters. A program had been organised on 7th of Bhadra of the same year by the ‘Hoi-hoi Sangha’ at Barddhman named ‘Bharsa-mangal’ in order to collect fund for relief of the flood-affected people which was staged at Singha-sadan. A few songs have been composed for the purpose like ‘Aamra na gaan gaaowar dol ...’, ‘Knaatabono-biharini surkana debi ...’, ‘Paaye pori ...’ and ‘O bhaai Kaanai ...’. Apart from these songs Rabindranath had composed a tune for the poem ‘Gaan dhorechhen grismokaale Bhismlochan Sharma ...’ written by Sukumar Roy.
