Shailaja-ranjan Majumdar in his book – 'Jaatrapother Aanondogaan' has written –
... Gurudev had composed the song 'Aami srabono aakashe oi ...' with elaboration (aakhar) for the program – Barsha-mangal, staged on 'Chhaya' auditorium on 4th and 5th September, 1937. However he was not entirely satisfied with the elaborations sung by the artists, hence he had opted only for the main song – plain and simple. ...
There are two separate entries, in the collection – Geetabitan, for the same song, one with the said elaborations (or aakhar) and suffixed with – 'Printed – by courtesy – Sri Shailaja-ranjan Majumdar', and the other, simple, marked with – 'Printed – by courtesy – Sri Shantidev Ghosh'. The history behind the song remains unknown to the general readers as the bibliography at the back of the book does not provide any information for the song.
