Notes: Critics of Rabindranath often singled out his poems and songs and commented on them. This song, after being published in 'Beena-baadini', was criticized by Sureshchandra Samajpati in 'Sahitya' in a cynical manner -

... I am unable to find a substance in the song but a few set of mellifluous phrases. Publishing songs of this type not only injures the institution behind 'Beena-baadini', but also drags our poet onto the verge of disrepute. '

Mamo hridayoshayonomaajhe,

Shuno madhur muruli baaje,

Mamo antore thaaki thaaki ...

This piece of poetry is a gross misconception and a cliché that invokes ridicule. ...
