Bidhushekhar Shastri had referred to this song in his book Gaayok Rabindranath -

... Once when I had gone to Gurudev, Amita was learning an old song from him. It was Aami nishidin tomay bhaalobasi.

After he had finished I went near saying -

'It was long back when I was studying at Kaashi, I had listened to this song from one of my friends. It is beyond my expression - how amazed I was, despite the song wasn't that well sung.'

In spite of the presence of Smt. Hemabala Sen and Amita he'd ridiculed indicating at my younger age -

'It is quite practical to be amazed by the song at that age.'

I could only find myself standing dumbfounded.
