About Satya Mukherjee
Mr. Satya Mukherjee is a retired Engineer settled at Durgapur. With a Bachelor degree in Metallurgy from Shibpur (1964) he started his professional career from Bhilai Steel Plant. He had gathered a vast experience in the field while working for large Steel Plants like Bhilai and Durgapur along with numerous small plants.
His passion for music from his childhood started to take shape a lot later in his life. He had achieved B.Muse. form Prayag Sangeet Samity, Allahabad, both in Hindustani Classical and Rabindra Sangeet. Under the tutelage of Guru Tanmoy Chatterjee and Subinoy Roy he had extended his quest for Rabindra Sangeet while receiving direct guidance from Guru Ardhendu Das and Jyoti Mazumdar in Hindustani Classical. Since 2011 he had been attached to 'Sur Taranga' a dedicated group of musicians and taking part in live performances around. Composing music too has been one of his fascinations. His acclaimed compositions have been aired by different TV channels in India and Bangladesh. Jointly with his wife Shyamoli he continues to perform in Rabindra Sangeet soiree and also mesmerizing the audience with 'Shruti-natak'.
His other hobbies include extensive travelling inside India and abroad. Being an experienced Body-builder he has now focused in to Yoga. He has registered himself as a Homeopathic medical practitioner dedicated to a charitable purpose. His versatile expertise would not be best elaborated without mentioning his writing skills.
