Chaitali Sengupta lives in The Netherlands and has been translating Tagore's songs in English for a while now with the idea of taking it to a larger audience. Recently she has written a preface to the 'Geetanjali' translated in Dutch. She says, 'Translating Tagore is not easy, and yet I believe earnestly that there is a great need to preserve his works in translation.' Other than pursuing works on Tagore, she is also involved in editing works for a magazine published in the Netherlands.
